Daniela Gwercher

..... was born in Austria. She started her career in the creative sector at the age of 29 when she founded her own advertising agency in Vienna.

At the age of 39, she quit the corporate world and travelled to foreign countries in a sailing boat: Africa, Madagascar, Brasil and The Caribbean had great influences on the artist. She was fascinated by people and culture - which later reflects in her love of portraiture and tropical impressions.

In the Caribbean - on the island of Grenada - the artist settled again and opened a new business in tourism - and also got nominated as the Austrian Consul.

​

In 2011 she quit the business world again - and returned to Africa - where she concentrated only on Art. She got trained in different areas of painting, studied Art history in London and got her diploma of Art Appreciation in 2017.

In 2019 she returned to Austria and initiated a social Art project with painting school for elderly people at the Marienheim Schwaz. 2021 the first exhibition was curated for the artworks of the elderly people artist-group. A big success of that  sustainable social project what still is going on.

​

Today the artist is painting and exhibiting in South Africa and Austria. In summer 2023 she got the award for BEST ABSTRACT FLORAL at the ART BY THE SEA membership exhibition on the South coast. Her painting style is a semi abstract bold oil painting - based on mood and impression - with strong color focus.
